Has this really happened, or is everyone dreaming, nothing like this ever happens in Wigan,,, or does it, I mean they won the F.A. Cup in 2013 didn't they, that happened.
But what about this LINK
It is like a dream come true
Everything sorted out, money in the club, wages paid, EFL happy, manager staying

Well, that's one way of making sure that the future of the stadium is secure.
Latic's owned by a shareholder of Wigan Warriors!
Can't be bad!
And he could start his improvements by changing the name of the Stadium from DW and seperating the accounts of the Stadium from the accounts of the Latics and putting the Stadium into a trust like it should have been done at the time it was built!

Wow i am ECSTATIC OVER THE NEWS ABOUT WIGAN ATHLETIC ,
I am very pleased and happy that a proper outcome has been found . At last we can all breath a huge sigh of relief ,everything's been settled ,all bills, wages ,debt all been paid off ,surely this can be" MANNA " from heaven for the latics . This can only be great news and with a lot of graft and help hopefully they can begin the long climb back up to where they belong . G.B.

They belong in the championship…premiership no…only causes trouble…average gates of 14-15000 would be ideal…next season 9-10000

From what I can see the purchase by a major shareholder of Wigan Warriors who is a friend of Ian Lenagan has more to do with gaining control of the Stadium.
Will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Stadium?

So who is in control of the stadium ?
And how does that affect things ?
And how would having control of the stadium by either the Latics or the Rugby affect the other party ?
In an ideal world both teams would have their own stadiums, but it is not an ideal world is it, and as you keep pointing out Owd Codger, the stadium is too big for either teams to utilise on their own.
So is it a case Owd Codger, of don't fix it, because it is not broken

No, it is a case of having to buy a football club in order to get what you really want, the Stadium!

If yoo are on about Mike Danson, and he wants a stadium, and I presume you mean a stadium for the Rugby Club, then the answer would be simple for him then wouldn't it ?
He would just build one somewhere wouldn't he, and move the Wigan Warriors into it, or if the opposite were true, and his love is for the football club, then in which case he would move Wigan Athletic into a new (hypothetical) stadium.
In any case the council have control over the stadium, the same way that they kept the land on which the Galleries was built, the land belonged to Wigan Council, the car park on the roof belonged to Wigan Council, and the shopping centre in between belonged to the Galleries Development Corporation, which was eventually bought by the council for a song.
